Heart Health

A healthy heart is vital to overall proper health. Your heart is responsible for pumping nutrient-rich blood across your body. The heart supplies oxygen while getting rid of waste and toxins. In general, maintaining a healthy diet rich in vegetables, fruits, lean proteins and whole grains is an effective method to retain a healthy heart. Don’t consume processed food and foods that are high in sugar and fat. The American Heart Association (AHA) advises consuming omega-3 fatty acids at least twice weekly. The leading risk factors for stroke and heart issues are high blood pressure, high low-density lipoprotein (LDL) cholesterol, diabetes, smoking and second-hand smoke exposure, overweightness, poor diet, and physical inactivity.

“Millions of Americans today are taking dietary supplements, practicing yoga and integrating other natural therapies into their lives. These are all preventive measures that will keep them out of the doctor's office and drive down the costs of treating serious problems like heart disease and diabetes.” - Andrew Weil
