Here it is! Ancient Purity's specially made Pau D'Arco Cream, it has a truly amazing Amazonian scent, it is a pleasure making this cream because of this very reason, but more importantly it has some incredible soothing, tropically topical benefits. Facts on Pau d'Arco

Botanical names: Tabebuia impetiginosa, Tabebuia avellanedae.

Common names: Pau D’Arco, Lapacho, Bow-Stick, Ipe roxo, Taheebo, Tajy, ‘The Tree Of Life.’

The Pau D'Arco tree grows in the warm parts of Central and South America. It is a broad leaf evergreen that grows to a height of 125 feet and has pink-to-violet colored flowers. The tree's extremely hard wood makes it resistant to disease and decay. The inner bark of the tree is used medicinally. In recent years there has been an increasing demand for Pau D'Arco.

Pau D’Arco contains several compounds, including quinoids, benzenoids and flavonoids. Pau D’Arco also has a significant amount of lapachol, which comes from the stem of the tree. A 2005 study published in Oncology Reports found that lapachol has promising results. Lapachol is also used for its antioxidant and antimicrobial effects.

“If science is defined or understood as a mode of seeking knowledge, a means of interpreting nature in a way that can be demonstrated to others, then the plant-medicine traditions of the Amazon as they have been practiced constitute an authentic scientific discipline.” - Jonathon Miller Weisberger, Rainforest Medicine: Preserving Indigenous Science and Biodiversity in the Upper Amazon

Natural Scent, Natural Effects

Pau D’Arco Cream… Closing Thoughts

For thousands of years, indigenous Amazonian tribes of South America have used Pau D'Arco as a traditional cure-all and praise the substance for its healing properties (as stated by Dr John Armstrong, N.D. – "Spotlight Magazine"). There are many common names for the Pau D'Arco herb including Taheebo, Ipe Roxo, La Pacho, or Tabebuia. Dr Teodoro Meyer, Professor at the National University of Tucuman in Argentina, noted a wide range of properties of this fantastic herb. Pau D'Arco is a natural analgesic , sedative, decongestant, diuretic and hypotensive (lowers blood pressure) giving the capability to greatly benefit your body's overall health. Pau D'Arco has many documented benefits, including strong activity against at least 11 different fungus and yeast strains. It is thought that those with a yeast allergy could greatly benefit from using a Pau D'Arco supplement. Pau D'Arco has been used as an anti-inflammatory agent, as well as an analgesic, and sedative. It has been known to treat a wide range of internal and external afflictions such as fevers, colds, influenza, various skin ailments including candida. Candida Albicans (the proper name for a yeast infection) has long been suspected to be one of the factors in food allergies. Pau D'Arco has been believed to help rid the body of yeast and fungus. So, you can imagine, this cream is potent stuff!

“Beauty is in the skin! Take care of it, oil it, clean it, scrub it, perfume it, and put on your best clothes, even if there is no special occasion, and you'll feel like a queen. If society is hard on you, fight back by pampering your skin. Skin is political. Otherwise why would the imams order us to hide it?” - Fatima Mernissi
