The leaves of Moringa are a natural Multi-Vitamin providing with far more Vitamin C than oranges, far more calcium than milk (plus now cattle farming), far more vitamin A than carrots, far more potassium than bananas, and more protein than yogurt.
Native to India, Moringa is one of the most powerful health-enhancing plants. India's ancient tradition of ayurveda sites hundreds of beneficial uses of the Moringa tree. Recent scientific research has proven that these humble leaves are of huge nutritional value. Moringa leaf is best known as an excellent source of nutrition and natural energy booster. This energy boost is not based on sugar, and so it is sustained. Moringa is also soothing. It helps lower blood pressure and is a sleep aid. Its detoxifying effect may come from Moringa's ability to purify water. Moringa acts as a coagulant attaching itself to harmful material and bacteria. It is believed that this process is taking place in the body as well.
While the continued use of Moringa for food and medicinal purposes by cultures in separate and distant parts of the world attest to its beneficial effects, Moringa is a recent “discovery” of modern science. The leaves of Moringa Oleifera are nature's multi-vitamin providing 7 x the vitamin C of oranges, 4 x the calcium of milk, 4 x the vitamin A of carrots, 3 x the potassium of bananas, and 2 x the protein of yogurt. On top of that, science is proving Moringa to be a powerhouse of nutrients; 90 are known to date, with the possibility of more yet to be identified. If that were not enough, Moringa has no known impurities, with no adverse reactions ever recorded, Moringa is multi Medicinal Plant.

Certified Biodynamic® Certified Organic Moringa
Food can only be as good a quality as the soil in which it was grown. Poor-quality, nutrient-depleted soil simply cannot produce high-quality nutritious food. While Certified Organic may be a good first step, We at Ancient Purity believe it’s less than ideal. Yes, it helps you avoid health-harming synthetic pesticides. But it may potentially lack in some other important areas. Certified Biodynamic® is a step above organic... Just because a food is organic doesn’t guarantee it is a high-quality food. If the soil lacks important nutrients, the food will lack nutrients. For nutritious food, you need good topsoil. And to build good nutrient-rich topsoil, you must follow regenerative farming methods. A step above organic, Biodynamic® farming utilises regenerative farming methods with a spiritual-ethical-ecological approach. The Biodynamic® concept views a farm as a living organism. It’s self-contained, self-sustaining, and follows the cycles of nature. The farm creates its vitality and well-being out of its own dynamics. Back in the 1920s, Rudolf Steiner, the founder of Waldorf education, and someone regarded as a very wise man, was approached by a group of farmers. They were alarmed at what was happening on their farms. Their seeds weren’t germinating... Their food wasn’t as tasty... Even their animals weren’t as healthy. They were beginning to notice the effects of industrialised agriculture with its repurposed nitrogen fertilizer and synthetic pesticides. Steiner’s sage advice? Stop viewing farms as factories and instead, see them as the living organisms they truly are!
How the Founder of Waldorf Education Revolutionised the Traditional Farming Industry
A group of German farmers who followed Steiner’s teachings wanted to make his concept of “biodynamic” farming an agricultural standard. Demeter was formed in 1928. The world’s oldest ecological certification organization, Demeter sets the standards for Biodynamic® just like the National Organic Program (NOP) sets organic standards. Demeter is well known within Central Europe. In fact, a full 10 percent of German organic farmland is Certified Biodynamic®. However, the US. has been much slower to catch on... The wine industry was the first to take note. U.S. winemakers began noticing that the best wines in the world were coming from Biodynamic® vineyards. This led them to adopt Biodynamic® practices on their own land.
Biodynamic Moringa goes further
Demeter’s Biodynamic® & Certified Organic
Certified Biodynamic® agriculture goes far beyond Organic Standards in that they consider the entire farm instead of individual crops and products. And they require the use of holistic regenerative farming practices to promote the health of the soil, crops and livestock.
Biodynamic® farmers strive to build a diverse and balanced ecosystem within their farm to enhance the quality and nutrition of the food being grown, with a heavy focus on sustainability.
Comparing Certified Organic to Certified Biodynamic®
Let’s take a closer look at how NOP’s Certified Organic standards compare to those of Certified Biodynamic®...
|Certified Organic||Certified Biodynamic®|
|Allows imported organic fertilisers||Reduces imported materials by utilising nutrient-rich humus created within the farming system|
|Allows imported organic pesticides||Creation of biologically diverse habitat encourages balanced predator-prey relationships|
|Does not require the use of livestock||Integrates livestock to improve soils|
|Does not address the rotation of crops||Promotes crop rotation and makes intensive use of cover crops (green manure) to add nutrients to the soil|
|Organic feed for livestock can come from anywhere in the world||50% of livestock feed must be grown on the farm|
|No requirement for biodiversity||10% of total farm acreage must be set aside for biodiversity|
|Focused on crops and allows only one section of a farm to be certified||Focused on farms and requires that the whole farm be certified|
|Product certification focuses mainly on ingredients used||Product certification uses 12 Biodynamic® processing standards so the agricultural ingredients used define the product|
Of course, many organic farmers recognize the importance of caring for their soil and may already be practicing some of the Biodynamic® methods, thereby exceeding the Organic standards. However, a Demeter Certified Biodynamic® farm must meet all of the Biodynamic®standards, not just a handful.
And if a farm is Demeter-certified, it means that it has also met the organic standard, even if it isn’t certified organic! Certified Demeter Biodynamic® is as good as it gets in agriculture – it’s the platinum standard for high-quality, nutrient-dense food.
Ancient Purity fully embraced the Biodynamic® concept and for Certified Biodynamic® over organic products. It is a slow process as there are only a few Biodynamic® farms within the UK and USA. and it is extremely difficult to find a steady stream of Biodynamic® raw material. This Organic Biodynamic® Moringa is one of the first products to bear Demeter’s distinctive symbol on its label!
Moringa is a Medicinal Plant
Protein for Vegans & Vegetarians
Moringa is considered to have the highest protein ratio of any plant so far identified, with the protein in Moringa being comparable in quality to that of soy. Food scientists once believed that only soy had protein comparable to meat, dairy, and eggs. Now they have added Moringa to that very short list. Some even consider Moringa protein better than soy protein as it is non-allergic. Proteins are digested into smaller units known as amino acids. Moringa contains 18 of the 20 amino acids required by the human body including all eight of the essential amino acids found in meat products. (Meat is a luxury most people around the world cannot afford). The body cannot manufacture those eight essential amino acids and must get them through the food we eat. Moringa is one of very few plants that contain all eight.
The Moringa Tree combats worldwide malnutrition.
Moringa Trees can be found in the tropics, world wide. It also thrives in the arid parts of the world where bad water, poor diet, and the diseases are leading killers. The World Health Organization (WHO) estimates that nearly 80% of the world’s population relies on traditional medicine (the use of plants) for their primary healthcare. Since the Moringa Tree is already common in much of the developing world, it can meet the needs of local populations in terms of availability, accessibility, and utilization. It is already growing in areas of need, with spontaneous growth in many regions, and is a hearty and drought tolerant plant. Unlike imported medicine, foods, or other supplements, the low cost of the Moringa Tree makes it affordable to poor populations. Its potential as a cheap local supplement in the fight against malnutrition is promising. Many humanitarian organizations including the Church World Service, the Educational Concerns for Hunger Organizations, Trees for Life, and the National Science Foundation now promote the use of Moringa in poverty-stricken areas to combat malnutrition. Amadou Ba, director of a Senegalese village health post states, "We were all trained in the classic solutions for treating malnutrition-- whole milk powder, sugar, vegetable oil, sometimes peanut butter. But these ingredients are expensive and the recovery of malnourished infants can take months. Now we have replaced this with Moringa. We start seeing improvements within 10 days."
A Powerful Plant is Recognised
Moringa better than Olive Oil? Oleifera is a Latin term meaning oil containing. The Moringa oil, known as ben oil, (due to the high concentration of behenic acid contained in the oil) is extracted from the seeds. Moringa Oleifera seeds contain 35-40% oil by weight and can yield more oil per hectare than sunflower or peanuts. The oil has more impressive attributes than olive oil. It is used in cooking and cosmetics; and because it won’t spoil and turn rancid, it is also used as a preservative and machinery lubricant, even being used as a lubricant in fine watches. What’s left after the oil has been extracted from the seeds is called seed cake, used as feed to increase milk production in cows.
Water Purification... Lack of drinkable water is one of the world’s most serious threats. Water related diseases account for more than 80% of the world’s sickness. People in many developing nations simply do not have acess to clean safe water. They are left with no choice but to drink and wash with water so contaminated that we wouldn't even dare to walk in it. Professor Suleyman Aremu Muyibi, of the International Islamic University of Malaysia, believes Moringa seeds could potentially provide a renewable, sustainable and biodegradable material for treating global water supplies. When Moringa seeds are crushed and added to dirty, bacteria laden water, they purify the water. As part of a Nigeria-based study, Muyibi feels that such an opportunity could be especially attractive in developing countries, where roughly 1.2 billion people still lack safe drinking water, with an estimated 25,000 people dying from water-borne diseases every day.
Britain’s University of Leicester is also studying the coagulating properties of Moringa seeds for its water purifying abilities. Researchers believe the Moringa seeds would work better than the common water purifier, aluminum sulfate, which can be toxic, and have successfully replaced the imported alum system of a Malawi village with a simpler full scale system using Moringa seeds.

Q: What is Moringa Oleifera?
A: Moringa oleifera is the most nutrient-rich plant. It has been nourishing people in less-developed societies for thousands of years, and significant nutritional research has been conducted since the 1970's. Moringa provides a rich and rare combination of nutrients, amino acids, antioxidants, anti-aging and anti-inflammatory properties used for nutrition and healing.
Q: Is Moringa's dried leaf powder more potent than fresh Moringa leaf?
A: There is significantly higher nutritional value in the shade-dried Moringa leaf, in some cases over ten times in specific nutrients when compared to fresh Moringa leaf. Many universities and independent research laboratory analyses have confirmed the higher nutritional values in the dried leaf powder. What's more amazing is the gram for gram comparison of Moringa to common fruits and vegetables. The nutritional values of Moringa's many vitamins, minerals, amino acids, chlorophyll, and anti-aging compounds are higher than it's own fresh leaves.
Q: Is Moringa safe?
A: In underdeveloped countries, health organizations and clinics distribute Moringa to infants, children, pregnant and lactating women. Moringa is sometimes called "Mother's Best Friend" and "Miracle Tree." Since 1998, the World Health Organization has promoted Moringa as an alternative to imported food supplies to treat malnutrition.
Q: What scientific studies support Moringa?
A: In the last ten years, hundreds of research articles, theses, reports, and patents have been published on Moringa. Newspapers, scientific journals, documentaries (Discovery Channel) feature Moringa more and more. The Church World Service recently organized the first ever Moringa Tree International Conference to educate about Moringa's use as an indigenous resource for fighting hunger and malnutrition.
Q: Is Moringa safe to take with medications?
A: We are not aware that any negative interactions have occurred. Please consult your doctor if you have health concerns.
Q: Is Moringa oleifera genetically modified?
A: No, Moringa is one of few beneficial plants NOT genetically modified (GM).
Q: What is the best book or reference I can get on Moringa oleifera?
