The conductive surface is carbon infused Polyurethane (PU) on a heavy duty natural rubber backing. It's FREE FROM vinyl / PVC and is bonded without glue. The Mat measures 68cm x 25cm (27" x 10"). The mains are not switched on, you are just connecting to the Earth so it does not cost anything to plug in.
